The LashOut electric bike can be set-up with fenders and rear rack.
Removing the front wheel makes fender installation easier. Use the small bolt/washer/nut to secure the fender to the black "horseshoe";
Tightening the nut will deform the fender's metal clip to fit the inner curve of the "horseshoe"'. This will also cause the front nose of the fender to angle downward; bend it back to fit over the wheel.

Adjust the length of the two struts to position the fender to match the curve of the tire.
|

The design of the LashOut frame requires extra-long struts on the rear rack. The TOPEAK Tubular Racks with the MTX QuickTrack mounting system have extra-long struts.

Due to the motor position, about 1/2" must be cut off the rear hook on the left side. The rear rack must be bolted with a shorter-than-normal screw (10mm vs. the standard 12mm).
|
Due to motor placement, only three of the four rear fender struts can be used (marked by the heavy green lines). The fourth one is removed from its connector (at the arrow).
Use the large bolt/washer/nut to secure the plastic fender holder to the seatstay crossbar (upper right photo).
The Planet Bike Freddy Fenders Hardcore are the solution. Although a slight bend in the strut may be necessary, that leg that was missing on the Lashout can be used on the new Rayos design.

Technical Note:
The drive chain connects the pinion gear (off the planetary gear assembly) to the sprocket on the hub. It is like the #25 chains used on the Currie Electro Drive kit and Currie scooters. However, it's actually a #25HA, meaning that it's a heavier/stronger chain that is 0.017" wider than a standard #25 chain. Because the chain is wider, standard master links don't fit. You'll need to contact a LashOut dealer for a replacement master link or switch to a stock Currie #25 chain.
