Here's the bike without the two side panels (and the pedals re-installed).
The battery pack is locked into position (as shown). Futher clockwise turning enables the system; the handlebar throttle assembly turns the power ON/OFF.
The display tells battery level and error codes.
The black sensor uses the magnets in the brown plastic hub-plate to determine speed. Once 20 mph is reached, the controller stops the motor until the speed falls below 20 mph.
The sensor beneath the crank senses pedal pressure; the controller then applies power.
The finned box above the motor is the controller.
